At Houseboats of Bangladesh, we understand that plans can change. This cancellation policy outlines our terms and conditions for cancelling or modifying your houseboat booking. We strive to be fair to both our guests and our boat operators.
2. Cancellation Timeline & Refunds
Refund amounts depend on when you cancel your booking:
More than 7 days before check-in
100% refund - Full refund of your booking amount
3-7 days before check-in
50% refund - Half of your booking amount will be refunded
Less than 3 days before check-in
No refund - Booking amount is non-refundable
3. Refund Process
- Refunds will be processed within 7-10 business days of cancellation approval
- Refunds will be issued to the original payment method used for booking
- Payment processing fees (if applicable) are non-refundable
- You will receive an email confirmation once your refund has been processed
- It may take an additional 3-5 business days for the refund to reflect in your account
4. How to Cancel Your Booking
To cancel your booking, follow these steps:
- Log in to your account at houseboatsbd.com
- Navigate to "My Bookings"
- Select the booking you wish to cancel
- Click the "Request Cancellation" button
- Confirm your cancellation request

5. No-Show Policy
If you fail to check in without prior cancellation (no-show), you will be charged 100% of the booking amount with no refund. We encourage you to cancel in advance if your plans change to avoid this charge.
6. Booking Modifications
If you wish to modify your booking dates instead of cancelling:
- Modifications are subject to availability
- Date changes made more than 7 days before check-in are free of charge
- Date changes made within 7 days may incur a modification fee

7. Special Circumstances
We understand that unexpected situations can arise. In the following cases, we may offer flexible cancellation options:
- Natural Disasters: Severe weather conditions or natural disasters affecting the booking area
- Medical Emergencies: Serious illness or injury (medical documentation required)
- Government Restrictions: Travel bans or lockdowns imposed by authorities
- Operator Cancellation: If the boat operator cancels, you'll receive a full refund
